Course Description:
Taught by educators from Bard Graduate Center for Studies in Decorative Arts, Design, and Culture, this professional development will explore the cultural significance of a variety of objects encompassing textiles, furniture, ceramics, architecture, and jewelry as a source of inspiration for writing, Participants will discover exciting stories surrounding these art objects and personalize this experience through written expression. Teachers will be guided in how to replicate and differentiate this experience with their students. This workshop is open to all teachers and is an engaging curricular connection to literacy and social studies.
