Description: Action: AAC Take 1: Through a day of interactive experiences, participants will develop and deepen their understanding of communication and access to proactively enhance student learning. Teachers will discover different types of communication systems and learn how to use these systems to enhance communication, discussion, and stage performance. Participants will explore ways to design classroom environments, and activities to promote communication and independence. Additionally, we will discuss vocabulary tiers, effective questioning strategies, AAC and picture communication to reach all levels of learners. As a Finale teachers will practice exchanging dialog in a skit or musical number, raising the voices of all students. This PD is designed for Theater Teachers and Dance Teachers
