Description: In this one day workshop participants will gain an understanding of Parent Counseling and Training (PCT), review state requirements for parent counseling and training, learn how to appropriately assess a Parents needs for Parent Counseling and Training and gain knowledge of resources to assist with implementing Parent Counseling and Training successfully. To ensure comprehension of the topic, participants will be given case studies to identify when to offer PCT, determine type of service (service delivery, frequency, duration, location, and beginning and end dates) that will be provided, practice completing the PLOP section of IEP based on a case study and track the progress of PCT. Skills discussed in this training are aligned with 1b-Demonstrating Knowledge of Students; 2a- Creating an Environment of Respect and Rapport; 2c-Managing Classroom Procedures; 2d-Managing Student Behavior; 2e-Organizing Physical Space; 4f-Showing Professionalism
