D75-20-4111: Nuts and Bolts - Understanding and Developing an Inclusive IEP - Part 1 and Part 2
Inclusive Education 2020/2021

Description: This asynchronous professional development is open to anyone who supports students who receive inclusive special education services in a District 1-32 School, specifically those supported by District 75. Participants will learn how to create IEPs that meet students’ individual instructional needs, specifically for students in District 75 inclusive programs. Part 1 will cover focus sections of the IEP and go through the quality indicators for each section. In Part 2, attendees will learn to incorporate voice from all stakeholders, while leaving with an understanding of the role that students can and should play in their IEP development, and the impact that this has on their lives. Participants will learn to ensure that IEPs follow compliance guidelines, and be provided with resources that can support IEP creation. This course is relevant during and after the time period of blended and remote learning; educators may need to generalize information to make specific connections to this time period. It should take approximately 2 hours to complete each section.
