Description: This one day workshop is targeted to Teachers and Paraprofessionals and will include strategies for suicide prevention in schools, such as grief support and safety training. Participants will become familiar with a problem solving approach with which to develop strategies, establish policies and procedures, and implement interventions for at-risk students. Skills discussed in this training are 1b Demonstrating Knowledge of Students, 2a Creating an Environment of Respect and Rapport, 2d Managing Student Behavior, 2e Organizing Physical Space, 3a Communicating with Students, 3b Using Questioning and Discussion Techniques, 3e Demonstrating Flexibility and Responsiveness, 4e Growing and Developing Professionally, 4f Showing Professionalism
