Description: Developing an awareness and understanding of fundamental number sense is essential for students’ future learning in mathematics. In this one-day workshop, participants will learn about how students developmentally learn the mathematical understanding of quantities and numbers from Birth to Age Six. This workshop will address the learning landscape of early number sense, model hands-on activities on explicit teaching, and time for planning a cognitively appropriate lesson that develops students understanding of number sense. In addition, all activities presented being age-appropriate for students of all grades.
