Description: Get ready to Sing, Act and Jam! Through a day of interactive experiences, participants will develop and deepen their understanding of communication and access to proactively enhance student learning through structuring classroom environments, activities, and systems in the theater and music classroom. Using the Music and Theater Blueprint as the content focus, we will engage in kinesthetic activities, discussing the accommodations and adaptations needed in order to increase independence. Participants will engage with switches, instruments, and skoogs, to create a choral performance, orchestral ensemble, and exchange dialog in a skit, giving a voice to all students. Additionally, we will discuss vocabulary tiers, effective questioning strategies, programmatic devices and picture communication to reach all levels of learners.
