D75-18-215: Professional Learning Series for ELL teachers, administrators, classroom teachers, and related service providers: Crafting Thematic Units to Enhance Communication and Language Skills for ELLs with Disabilities
English Language Learners 2018/2019
Description: Thematic unit organization consists of a series of age and grade appropriate lessons which integrate subjects across the curriculum. In this session, participants will experience how they can create cross-curricular thematic units, with individual lessons specific to the four content areas. Within each lesson, participants will learn how to integrate questioning and discussion appropriate to students ability levels, as well as assessment within lessons and throughout the unit. This CTLE approved session may be used toward the 50% Commissioners Regulations (CR) Part 154 Professional Development requirement for ELL teachers, and toward the 15% CR Part 154 PD requirement on ELL topics for non-ENL and non-bilingual teachers (as well as a Jose P. Training Part 2 session).
