Description: "This session will provide participants with a deeper understanding of how the Language Experience Approach (LEA) can be incorporated into content area instruction, specifically the Arts, to promote language acquisition and literacy development. Participants will engage in hands-on learning activities, museum lead experiences and how to transition from a field trip to the classroom, all reinforcing the strategies and techniques covered. LEA is an excellent way to increase communication in the Art Studio, Dance Studio, Theater, or Music Room! This may be used toward the 15% CR Part 154 PD requirement on ELL topics for non-ENL and non-bilingual teachers.
