Description: This session will demonstrate how to administer each session of the NYSESLAT to students with disabilities. The intent of this professional learning session is for Testing Coordinators and New ELL teachers who have not yet administered the NYSESLAT, as well as school administrators, to understand the best manner in which to administer a standardized test to students in alternate assessment. Topics to be covered include the imperative of keeping an accurate testing schedule, procedure for first-time proctors, relevant dates, test setting, and use of the Test Accommodations for Students with Disabilities manual from NYSED. A sample 2019 NYSESLAT test schedule and tracking sheet will be provided to all participants in both hard copy and electronically. This CTLE approved session may be used as part of the 50% CR Part 154 mandate for professional learning sessions attended by ENL and bilingual teachers.
