Description: This 2 day workshop teaches how to utilize puppets to engage elementary students with Autism. This training is only for related service counselors and clinicians working with elementary school populations. Each participant will receive a puppet that they will personalize and take with them for their practice. Skills discussed in this training are 1b Demonstrating Knowledge of Students, 2a Creating an Environment of Respect and Rapport, 2b Establishing a Culture for Learning, 3a Communicating with Students, 3b Using Questioning and Discussion Techniques, 3e Demonstrating Flexibility and Responsiveness, 4e Growing and Developing Professionally, 4f Showing Professionalism
