D75-18-245: Nuts and Bolts Institute
Inclusive Education 2018/2019

Description: Nuts and Bolts is a 5 day institute with an additional getting started date that is offered to teachers of any grade who are new to providing special education services to students in inclusive settings or who started last school year and missed the workshops previously offered. Paraprofessionals, general education colleagues, administrators or anyone wanting a review of the topics are also welcomed. We recommend that participants attend all five days of the institute, along with the one Getting Started on site coaching date. Getting Started on site coaching date will be scheduled once participants register for the training. This visit will support new SETSS providers in creating systems to structure students' services, scheduling their mandates and Chapter 408 requirements. Nuts and Bolts Institute teaches inclusive philosophy, developing an inclusive IEP, specially designed instruction around curriculum adaptations , behavior interventions and transition related skills. The last session of Nuts and Bolts brings participants together to share practices, problem solve, and establish next steps.
