Mathematics (STEM) 2018/2019
Description: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math - STEAM projects are ideal for integrating multiple subject areas and providing cross-curricula learning experiences. This workshop is an opportunity for teachers to learn about the process of developing a K-5 STEAM project for the alternate assessment learner. This will help students make connections, generalize and form deeper understanding of the content. This professional development will focus on the engineering design process and essential components of project based learning. We will discuss meaningful questioning and listening strategies for your students, and take a closer look at the science and math content of a STEAM project. Participants will have time to develop their lessons, form questions, plan assessments, make instructional materials and workout the details of their project.
