Description: In this one-day workshop, participants will be guided in how to teach Social Studies through Film & Video. Participants will gain to strategies and techniques that will engage students and lead to an inquiry of the material. Using film and video as an educational tool will help with formative assessments and result in greater student comprehension of the material covered. Participants will watch and then dissect a video of a historical event, discuss the material covered and then create a project and share with colleagues. Participants will receive a one-day course completion certificate from the District 75 Office of Literacy and Social Studies. This workshop is CTLE approved and is open to administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers and SETSS providers.
