D75-19-132: Developing a Transition Focused Individualized Education Program (IEP) for Administrators
IEP Development, Transition 2019/2020

Description: This workshop will review considerations and requirements for developing a quality transition-focused IEP in consideration of a student’s present of level of functioning, measurable postsecondary goals, strengths, interests, preferences, and needs. Participants will also be introduced to the NY State Performance Plan Indicators with an emphasis on Indicator 13 (SPP 13) and will learn best practices for conducting a self-review of IEPs at the school level to determine NYSED compliance guidelines for effective and relevant transition services delivery. This session is open to administrators.
Attendees should bring an IEP for a student who is at least 15 years old (inclusive of attendance page) and other forms/documents to include but not limited to: all invitation letters/notices, PWN, all transition-related assessments to include but not limited to the Level One Vocational Assessment Interviews (student, parent and teacher) that were used to inform the development of the IEP. Please ensure that the IEP and accompanying documents are redacted.
