Description: Pre-requisite: Proof of Certification in TCI core. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention - Developmental Disabilities (TCI-DD) is a 2-day training. This 2 day training focuses on identifying and reducing conditions and events that may trigger challenging behaviors in students with Developmental Disabilities. It will provide strategies that will minimize challenging behaviors, focusing on crisis communication skills and on modifying the Life Space Interview. The skills discussed in this training are aligned with Danielson FfT: 1b-Demonstrating Knowledge of Students; 2b-Establishing a Culture for Learning; 2c- Managing Classroom Procedures; 3a-Communicating with Students; 3b-Using Questioning and Discussion Techniques. PLEASE NOTE: Participants are required to submit a copy of their TCI certicate of completion via email to ndavidson2@schools.nyc.gov in order to complete registration.
